Philips began work in Romania around 1925. Two years later, Philips first factory opened in Bucharest radio equipment. After an interruption of the activity on the local market, Philips is back on the Romanian market in 1992. Today, the various divisions of Philips, namely electronics, appliances and personal care, medical equipment and lighting products are directly represented in Romania.
Romania plays one of the most important roles in the region of Southeast Europe in terms of brand recognition. The new brand promise - "Sense and Simplicity" - help the company in achieving this goal. Philips Romania, the market is very promising, as indicated by growth of almost 20% in 2005.
